Russia's full-scale invasion began on 24 February 2022, eight years after the annexation of Crimea and the start of the war in the Donbas. Fighting has run along a front across eastern and southern Ukraine, with long-range strikes on cities and infrastructure across the country and, increasingly, inside Russia. Reading the last 30 days…

Two different counts. “Still displaced” is the stock IDMC records at year end; “newly displaced” is the flow during that year. The flow can exceed the stock when people return within the year, which is what Russia’s figures show.
